WWDC 2010 Predictions!

WWDC 2010 starts tomorrow, which means there will be a Keynote speech by Steve Jobs at 10AM Pacific (1PM Eastern) announcing new products and updates. So what can we expect? Here are my predicitions:

New iPhone - After the iPhone prototype saga with Gizmodo, I’m not sure there’s a single soul on earth who would refute this. Expect updated hardware and form factor, an extremely high resolution screen, 5MP camera with flash, and a front-facing camera for video chatting. Same processor as the iPad (which is ridiculously fast btw…). Black and White colors, and it will be called the iPhone HD. And you know what else? IT STILL WON’T BE ON VERIZON. Sorry. They will get a lot of sales based on the new hardware alone… I expect a Verizon version to be announced next January to boost sales then.

OS X 10.7 - This is after all the “developers conference” so it makes sense we’ll see a preview of what’s to come from the next major cat. What’s it going to be called? Look for Lion, Lynx, or Cougar. New features? Shoot… your guess is as good as mine.

Apple TV - Don’t bet on it. The rumors of a Google TV killer are almost guaranteed to be true, but I don’t think it’s on tap for tomorrow. Look for this to show up next to the Verizon announcement in January (also typically when Apple TV major updates have been announced).

iTunes.com - This is a tough one… I WANT to believe it will happen tomorrow after the abrupt ending to lala.com, but I think this is a MUCH bigger product than people think, and will require a lot more “launch presence”. I expect this to come out in September at the annual iPod event, and expect an overhauled iTunes experience for EVERYONE.

Product refreshes - Mac Mini, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro are all due to get upgraded but don’t necessarily expect anything major… this will probably just be updated on the Apple Store.

Naturally, this is all guess work based on me keeping an eye on the rumors, but you can tune in here on MacRumors and also here on Engadget.
